RAJUK HEADQUARTER

MOHAKHALI, DHAKA, 2016

RAJUK, one of the prominent regulatory authorities in charge of Dhaka's development, was thinking about constructing a headquarters to accommodate both their offices and commercial facilities. The fundamental goal is to provide RAJUK's corporate headquarters with a distinctive identity to represent their mission and idea of effective collaboration between the authority and the inhabitants which results in a better living environment. To ensure that public involvement, public accessibility is prominently designed in an inviting manner with a vast, charming plaza and interconnected multi-layered courtyard with comfortable visual clarity.

If the commercial office tower is considered a symbol of development, RAJUK is presented as the responsible authority here to take people toward development. In addition, the enduring river “Buriganga” plays a crucial role in determining how people live in this lush delta. This design also incorporates that particular image. The built forms emerged as a vertical progression from the ground along with the water body. The circulations are based on the scale and street patterns found in the older section of Dhaka, where the streets serve as both a place for mass gatherings and leisurely strolls. The goal was to produce such a perspective at eye level so that people can perceive a sense of invitation, belongingness and purity.
