Age and Edge Architecture Studio have been Awarded “2nd Prize” in the Open Architectural Competition for the Design of “Head Quarter of Anjuman Mufidul Islam”
Anjuman Mufidul Islam is a century-old Islamic welfare organization that arranged a design competition for its headquarters in association with the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB).
The basic idea is to create an identity of AMI commercial headquarter to symbolize their vision and notion, as Anjuman is promoting friendship and fellow feeling among different communities through the ages. The bold form with a protective shell expresses the helping and nurturing nature of Anjuman for the backward and downtrodden people of the society. Overall upward dynamism of the form with the outdoor stair to the institution floor symbolizes the uplifting notion of Anjuman for society. Overall firmness and a singular formal expression reflect Anjumans pride in purity and fidelity. At the entry-level, there is created deliberately a shelter space, which is a general platform that symbolizes anjuman’s helping notion for all general people though it’s an Islamic welfare organization. It was a great challenge to keep Anjuman’s welfare image and functions despite the total difference of mood like a full-phase commercial.
